Scotland's nature and SNH
At Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) we maintain a vast store of knowledge about Scotland's nature and landscapes. For instance, we have data and information on many aspects of Scotland's environment on our SNHi applications. We also have a range of publications:
- 'Naturally Scottish' looks at one or more of Scotland's native species.
- 'Landscape Fashioned by Geology' explains how the countryside around us developed over geological time, relating familiar views to the rocks beneath. These publications are produced jointly with the British Geological Survey.
- 'Scotland's Living Landscapes' looks at habitats; how and why they develop; the wildlife that they are home to; and the cultural heritage associated with them. This series includes; Coasts, Firths, Grasslands, Kelp Forests, Machair, Mountains, Sea Lochs, Soils, Springs and Flushes and Boglands.
The Nature of Scotland Magazine covers recent news and feature articles about Scotland's nature and the work of SNH, including our work with schools.
