Coasts and climate change in Scotland
Nowhere in Scotland is more than 65 km from its long coastline. So many of our landscapes are influenced by coastal processes and the influence of the sea. Our coasts include internationally important bird populations including waders and wildfowl attracted by the plentiful food and safe roosts of mudflats and saltmarshes in winter and huge breeding seabird colonies in summer.
Find out about these wonderful areas, the impact of climate change on them, the action needed to look after them for the future.
