Openness and customer care

Our aim is to maintain an open, responsive, collaborative and inclusive style of operating.

Some of this achieved by ensuring that the information and data which we gather and use are readily available to others.  The 'Publications, Data and Research'  section of this Website is dedicated to making that data available, either directly by download or by requesting data from us.  Our commissioned research is normally published.  Our SNHi homepage also gives access to the bank of data which SNH has about the natural heritage.

Most of our Board discussions are held in open session, accessible to the public, and the papers and minutes are made publicly available.  We hold occasional open events, both nationally and at regional level, to enable aspects of our business to be aired more fully.  This Website provides a list of past and upcoming Board meetings showing those which are open to the public

Where we develop policy or guidance which affects others, we aim to consult interested parties so that the line we take embraces a range of perspectives.  This Website contains a list of current and past consultations issued by SNH, and also a list of SNH's responses to consultations by others.

We also disclose information about the salaries paid to our senior leaders and managers  PDF document .

If you are looking for information beyond that available on our Website, please contact your local office.  As a Government organisation, we are bound by Freedom of Information and related legislation, and on equality and diversity.  We are committed to meeting high standards in openness and transparency.
