Strategy & Priorities 2012-2015

Strategy and Priorities 2012-2015 explains how SNH's work contributes to the Government's objectives, and includes statements on how our work has a major positive impact on the country's economy and on people's health and well-being.

Using targeted and proportionate Advice, Promotion and Action, we aim for:

  • High quality nature and landscapes that are resilient to change and deliver public value;
  • Nature and landscapes that make Scotland a better place in which to live, work and visit;
  • More people experiencing, enjoying and valuing our nature and landscapes;
  • Nature and landscapes as assets contributing more to the Scottish economy.

Our actions:

  • Secure the sustainable management of Scotland's natural assets to deliver the National Outcomes in the Scottish Government's National Performance Framework.
  • Assemble and present evidence and interpretation to shape the way that these natural assets support investment and secure public benefits.

Our success depends on working closely with others, including national and local government, all MSPs, national park authorities, other public bodies, land managers, businesses, voluntary organisations, community groups and individuals.

This document updates our published Corporate Strategy  PDF document and complements the current priorities of the Scottish Government, setting the strategic context for more detailed proposals which will be presented in our Corporate Plan 2012-2015.
