Preparing for the future

'Climate Change and the Natural Heritage - Scottish Natural Heritage's Approach and Action Plan' sets out our strategic priorities and the key actions for delivering them over the next few years. The statement makes clear our concern about climate change which we view as the most serious risk to the nature and landscapes over coming decades. It sets out our strong support for mitigation and adaptation measures, and identifies our objectives with respect to each.

We have reviewed the synergies between our Climate Change Action Plan and the Action Plans already published by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) external site   and the Forestry Commission Scotland external site , and that being prepared by Historic Scotland external site . Our four-agency statement on 'Action on Climate Change' clearly sets out how we are taking forward our climate change responsibilities together. This joint approach is helping to deliver the commitments made through the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009 external site and the Scottish Government Adaptation Framework external site .
