Our responses to consultations and inquiries
A key element of Scottish Natural Heritage's work is advising Government and others on a wide range of issues. We provide advice on the development of policy and legislation that relates to the nature and landscapes. This advice regularly takes the form of consultation responses.
We regularly respond to proposals from:
- Scottish Government;
- UK Government;
- European Commission; and
- other organisations.
We also submit written and oral evidence to Scottish and UK Parliamentary inquiries.
We are also one of three Consultation Authorities - along with Historic Scotland and SEPA - who provide expert advice on Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA). Since 20 February 2006, all public plans, programmes and strategies in Scotland need to have an accompanying SEA. You can view all SEA responses on the Scottish Government website
