Transport
To help you with planning your travels VisitScotland has created a comprehensive travel page
with all the information you need to get to Scotland and around Scotland. Many places are accessible by public transport, so why not leave the car behind for a day? Sit back, enjoy the passing landscape and let someone else do the driving. If you go to more remote areas check pick-up arrangements with the bus/train staff. There are also some fantastic cycling and walking routes to follow. Have a look on our cycling and walking pages for more information. Driving through Scotland can be a fantastic experience, but always give yourself enough time to enjoy the journey.
Accommodation
A wide range of accommodation
awaits you wherever you go in Scotland, from Hotels and Guesthouses or B&Bs to Hostels and Campsites - there's something for everyone's taste and budget. And if you're planning a longer stay, self catering might be the option for you. Look out for the Green Tourism Business Scheme
award. This means that your accommodation provider acts responsibly with regards to energy consumption, waste management and other environmental issues.
Visitor Information Centres
If you need any inspiration or further information why not visit one of Scotland's Visitor Information Centres
. Staff can offer friendly advice on all aspects of your journey and would be delighted to book accommodation for you.
