Getting involved with a group
If you'd like to make a difference for wildlife, greenspaces and paths in your area you could join a local voluntary group, or even start one. It's a great way to meet people, burn off some calories and make a difference in your community.
They are also opportunities to travel to some of the wildest parts of Scotland to help to improve paths, maintain landscapes and improve habitats for wildlife.
Here are some of the organisations you could join to take part:
- John Muir Trust Award
- BTCV (British Trust for Conservation Volunteers) Scotland
- National Trust for Scotland
- Scottish Wildlife Trust
