Regional parks

There are three Regional Parks, which provide great opportunities for leisure and recreation in places that are easy to reach from Scotland's major urban areas.

Pentland Hills Regional Park

Located to the south of Edinburgh, the Regional Park offers many ways for you to experience and enjoy the Pentland Hills. Good starting points to visit the Park are Hillend Country Park, Harlaw or Flotterstone Ranger Base and Visitor Centres.

Lomond Hills Regional Park

Located about 30 miles north of Edinburgh, explore this part of the Fife countryside including the Lomond hills. Access points and facilities are facilities at Lochore Meadows Country Park and the Pitcairn Centre, Glenrothes.

Clyde Muirshiel Regional Park

Located just 30 minutes west of Glasgow by road or rail, the Regional Park provides you with a wide range of outdoor activities on land and water. Set off from  Castle Semple Country Park, Muirshiel Country Park or Greenock Cut Visitor Centre.
