They are a number of organisations that manage woods and forests. Some also provide facilities such as car parks, toilets and visitor centres to make your visit easier.
Forestry Commission
The Forestry Commission Scotland

Woodland Trust
The Woodland Trust manage 80 woods in Scotland and is also running the VisitWoods initiative across the UK. VisitWoods Scotland aims to inspire everyone, in particular children, families, older people and people with disabilities, giving you the confidence to visit woods for recreation, wellbeing and enjoyment. promotes the use of local woods and forests and has everything you need to plan a great day out: searchable maps, inspiring ideas, free activities and space to upload your own photos, stories and tips
Central Scotland Forest Trust
The Central Scotland Forest Trust
manages woodlands that are spread throughout 620 square miles bounded by Edinburgh, Glasgow, Falkirk, Stirling and Lanark and are available for everyone to enjoy.
