The 2009 stag stalking season lasts from 1st July to 20th October, with most areas busiest towards the end of the season. There are 12 Hillphone areas this year.

The National Access Forum stalking communication sub-group recently agreed signs guidance for land managers. It is hoped that this guidance will play an important role in encouraging appropriate signage and hence better integration of hillwalking and stalking.
