Increasing and broadening participation

We want everyone in Scotland to have the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors - through outdoor recreation, volunteering or outdoor learning. This commitment is set out in our policy statement 'Enjoying the outdoors - increasing participation and sharing the benefits'. Our research and monitoring work helps us to understand the barriers that some people can face in getting out into nature. Our outreach projects provide targeted opportunities for more people to enjoy and benefit from Scotland's nature and landscapes.
