Getting into Scotland's National Parks and National Nature Reserves
Scotland's National Parks and National Nature Reserves are exceptional places full of fantastic things to see and do - from protected wildlife, spectacular scenery, geological wonders, cultural heritage and adrenaline-packed activities, to the simple pleasures of enjoying nature and the outdoors.
Getting into Scotland's National Parks and National Nature Reserves - A Resource Pack is a practical guide to overcoming barriers that might make visiting or getting involved with National Parks and National Nature Reserves difficult. It is aimed at groups who work with and support people in broadening their horizons and increasing their sense of well-being.
The pack contains useful information and advice to support visits and includes resource sheets covering the practicalities of organising a visit, assessing and managing risk, building commitment, packaging experiences and a specific section for schools. Download the Resource Pack here

The Resource Pack was the result of a research project to help us understand the barriers facing people who do not make as much use as others of Scotland's National Parks and National Nature Reserves. The research looked at the issues for young people, people with disabilities, people on low incomes and school groups. Practical support for planning a visit was high on the list of recommendations.
The research, Scotland's National Parks and National Nature Reserves - Overcoming Barriers to Engagement, was commissioned in 2007 by Cairngorms National Park Authority, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park Authority and Scottish Natural Heritage.
