Deer watching

Deer are an iconic Scottish species. Watching deer can provide income to rural economies as well as enjoyment. We are working to make Deer Watching as accessible as possible and maximise its potential to rural communities.

To achieve this we will be developing links between operators offering wildlife watching experiences and owners of the land where wild deer can best be seen.

This process is well underway with two workshops held earlier this year and Best Practice Guides currently in development.

For information about developing deer watching activities please contact either Alastair MacGugan  or Sue Dymond
