The joint working programme

Sites join the Joint Working programme when the habitats have been surveyed and found to be in poor condition, due to grazing and trampling impacts. Often more detailed survey work is required to establish the nature and distribution of these impacts. In some cases the problems can be addressed by small adjustments to management practices. Solutions need to take account of the natural deer range and the practicalities of land ownership patterns. The Joint Working programme details the now considerable number of sites where public bodies are working together with land managers to help improve these sites.
