Locals invited to SNH reception in Lerwick17-APR-2012
Local people in Shetland are being invited along to an informal evening reception held by Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) in Islesburgh Community Centre, Lerwick, from 6-8pm on 23 April.
SNH is the Scottish Government's advisor on the management, enjoyment, understanding and sustainable use of Scotland's wildlife, natural habitats and landscape.
Andrew Thin, the SNH chairman, will host the event with local operations manager Fraser Symonds. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for local people to meet some of SNH's senior staff and discuss issues of mutual interest.
Andrew Thin said: "The evening will give people the opportunity to have an informal discussion with senior staff about the work of SNH in the Shetland area what we do and why; and the chance to raise issues about the natural environment of interest to them. It is also a really useful way for us to keep in touch with public perceptions of the organisation. We certainly hope that many people will be able to come along and we look forward to meeting them on the night."
The event is free and light refreshments will be provided. It is open to everyone but places are limited so please book a place in advance. For more information get in touch with Jonathan Swale: 01595 693345 Jonathan.Swale@snh.gov.uk
