ePlanning

On 29 April 2009, the Scottish Government launched ePlanning Scotland - the new online planning application and appeals submission system. From this site it is possible to make an application to any planning authority in Scotland or submit an appeal to the Directorate for Planning and Environmental Appeals.

ePlanning is a step change in delivering a planning system that is fast and efficient, moving planning away from a paper process towards an electronic way of working. The ePlanning programme is a partnership of key public sector organisations involved in the planning process across Scotland including all 34 planning authorities and key government agencies including Scottish Natural Heritage, Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Historic Scotland, Transport Scotland and Scottish Water.

eConsultation is a key part of planning modernisation. It seeks to coordinate the use of new technology to help communications between consultees on planning applications and ultimately provide a speedier service for our customers. eConsultation aims to put in place the necessary foundations for the consultation process to happen efficiently, allowing the consultee to focus on a quality of response based upon all relevant information. We are now receiving eConsultations from planning authorities and are working as part of the eConsultation Working Group to improve take-up.
