The suite of guidance below is intended to aid in the process of assessing the potential impacts of a windfarm proposal on Scotland's landscapes.

- Siting and designing windfarms in the landscape
(2009) helps to guide windfarms towards those landscapes best able to accommodate them and advises on how windfarms can be designed to best relate to their setting and minimise landscape and visual impacts. - Siting and design of small scale wind turbines of between 15 and 50 metres in height (2012).
This guidance deals specifically with the siting and design aspects of proposals for small turbines, although there are clearly other issues to be taken into consideration when installing such developments.
