Beavers

The Cabinet Secretary for Environment and Climate Change announced in November 2016 that the Scottish Government is minded to allow beavers to remain in Scotland. Work is now underway to provide the legal protection that the Cabinet Secretary described. This is expected to take some time with legal protection in place towards the end of the spring. In the meantime the pages and links below continue to provide a wealth of information about beavers, their biology, interactions with the natural and human environment and their necessary management.
