Central Scotland Green Network (CSGN) landscape audit
As part of its work on the Central Scotland Green Network
(CSGN), SNH has recently completed a report on the findings of an audit of the landscapes of Central Scotland.
The report is divided into six separate sections:
Section 1
introduces the audit and provides material on the background to it
Section 2
reviews landscape character within Central Scotland, drawing on the range of assessment work that been undertaken, including related methods such as Historic Landuse Assessment.
Section 3
reviews the various landscape qualities which can be found in Central Scotland. It includes data on designations, vacant and derelict land, and wildness
Section 4
reviews how the landscape of Central Scotland contributes to sense of place and local distinctiveness.
Section 5
looks at the main agents of change on the CSGN's landscapes.
Section 6
contains general conclusions, proposed landscape actions and an overview of possible further work.
It is intended that the audit will be added to as new data become available.
