Biodiversity begins with a B

Scotland's biodiversity is amazing.

From natural superstars like the golden eagle, red deer and salmon, to the fragile beauty of mountain plants, or the soil in your garden and its millions of tiny creatures. The variety of living things in our small nation is simply breathtaking.

Keeping all this biodiversity safe and healthy is really important for clean air and water, for growing food, and for the local parks, woods, hills, rivers and beaches we enjoy... you get the picture.

So what can we do for our biodiversity to keep it special?

Here are a few ideas to be going on with...

  • Buy seasonal food from local producers
  • Experience nature on your doorstep
  • Create a wildlife-friendly garden
  • Help with a wildlife survey
  • Tell someone about it
  • Get others involved
  • Or have a look at the Biodiversity begins with a B video external site we've created for YouTube which highlights simple actions we can all take to support bees and biodiversity.
