Recommended list of Priority Marine Features in Scotland's seas

Scottish Natural Heritage and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee  have been working together to develop a prioritised list of marine habitats and species in Scotland's seas, known as Priority Marine Features (PMFs). The recommended list will be made available here during spring 2012.

The list will be used to help focus action, direct research and education and promote a consistent approach to marine nature conservation advice.

Next steps

Work is also underway to produce a descriptive catalogue of Priority Marine Features, which will include a distribution map, image and description of each feature, as well as information on their conservation status.
