SNH and Biodiversity

Scottish Natural Heritage has a lead role in delivering biodiversity action in Scotland. We work together with other members of the Scottish Biodiversity Forum  (SBF) to deliver action for the Scottish Biodiversity Strategy   through a structure of working groups each of which leads on a different aspect of biodiversity.

Like all other Public Bodies in Scotland Scottish Natural Heritage has a Biodiversity Duty   and apart from working with others in the SBF we also deliver action for biodiversity in a variety of areas of our core work such as through management of designated sites, licensing for protected species or provision of funding for projects and groups.
