Badger Licences - Preventing Serious Damage
Badgers are generally very shy and secretive creatures and in the vast majority of cases badgers and humans co-exist very peacefully. However, on rare occasions badgers can cause damage to gardens, crops or property. In most cases this can be resolved by ensuring that badgers are not able to get access to the area in question.
However, if this is not possible, and if serious damage might occur to that property it may be possible to get a licence to prevent such damage Scottish Natural Heritage can issue licences to prevent serious damage to land, crops, poultry or any other property.
