Beach Dunes: a guide to managing coastal erosion in beach/dune systems
Sandy beaches and dunes are an attractive and important element of our natural heritage. We use them for recreation, conservation and, of course, as the basis for Scotland's renowned golf links. But most of Scotland's beaches are constantly changing and eroding. This guide for coastal authorities and managers reviews the different ways in which erosion can be managed and describes and illustrates how each technique can be designed to minimise the damage to the natural heritage.
