Research
We commission a wide range of research to underpin many aspects of our work. The research covers fifteen themes such as Coasts and Seas, Freshwater, Land Use, Biodiversity, Climate Change and Landscape. Our research priorities are driven by our Corporate priorities and operational needs.
Our Research Strategy (2010 - 2013) has just been updated and explains our priorities in the short to mid term.
The Research Action Plans
outline projects being carried out in 2010 - 2011 or planned or you can view more detailed descriptions of ongoing projects for 2010 - 2011
.
We produce an average of 50 Commissioned Research Reports each year as well as leaflets and peer reviewed articles which are available for download. We aim to make our work publicly available as quickly as possible after completion, and to use it in support of our work. Wherever possible we work in partnership with other Scottish Government and sister agencies, such as the Scottish Environment Protection Agency or Forestry Commission Scotland.
