Geodiversity

Scotland has a unique geological diversity. Geodiversity is the variety of rocks, minerals, fossils, landforms, sediments and soils, together with the natural processes which form and alter them. Work on the conservation of soils is being increasingly recognised as a priority as well as the role of peatland and other organic soils play as a carbon store in the face of climate change.
