Rural Land Use

The traditional land uses (agriculture, forestry and game management) still heavily influence land management practices in a country where 95% of the land surface is rural. We are working with others to secure benefits for nature within the evolving Common Agricultural Policy. We need an evidence base which looks at impacts on the nature and landscapes under different scenarios of environmental and land use changes as well as advising on ecosystem services relating to carbon, renewable energy, water and recreation-related management.
