Policy makers
Scotland's nature and landscapes are outstanding assets, for their contribution to the quality of life for people in Scotland, and for their biodiversity and recreation opportunities. They also form the basis for many aspects of the rural economy, including tourism and agriculture.
Policy makers are likely to find the following sections of this Website most useful:
Under 'About SNH', the 'What we do' section gives an overview of our five strategic priorities and the activities which these embrace.
Under 'About SNH', the 'Working with government' section outlines how we work with other parts of government and with local government.
Under 'Policy and Guidance' you will find a comprehensive list of all policy documents published by SNH, and also a list of technical guidance documents.
Under 'Publication, data and research' you will find a list of our publications - including research reports.
Under 'Protecting Scotland's nature' you will find details of the statutory protection afforded to various aspects of Scotland's nature, including protected sites and species.
